You know what time it is? That’s right shortall season!

I’m not sure what miracle has allowed shortalls to stay in fashion for women for so many years in a row but I am very happy for it. I firmly intend to spend as much of the coming months in shortalls and rompers as possible hehe.

I finished up Yumi and the Nightmare Painter. It was a little clunky in spots but I think it firmly is my favorite of the Brandon Sanderson works I’ve read! I really identified with the themes of creativity, not losing your passion to art as a task, and machine vs. human artworks.

As much as I enjoy Sanderson’s work I am a little sad how much he’s taken over the fantasy book landscape. I went to my local Barnes and Nobel to pick up a physical copy of The Priory of Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon and was shocked to see the fantasy section reduced to two rows, 1/4 of it being Sanderson. They also had a big collection of Wheel of Time which I know he wrote parts of. I wonder if people are reading less fantasy books these days or just reading them digitally? Maybe people are all getting the same books based on recommendations? I picked up Priory based on seeing it referenced on tumblr. I really like it so far, but I also know it’s super popular…

With Yumi and the Nightmare Painter I had the grand idea to start back on my visual novel backlog. I have quite a few I purchased as I was playing through Higuashi: When They Cry. Umm I went with the cute lesbian game 🙊

OshiRabu: Waifus Over Husbandos is the story of a gacha obsessed Akuru Hayahoshi who accidently proposes to the incredibly lucky Ren Furutachi after Ren pulls Akuru’s husband in her game. I haven’t gotten very far but it is really, really cute so far and pretty funny. I got a kick out of the fact that the game Akuru is playing is clearly Token Ranbu. I’ve never played Token Ranbu (I don’t think there’s an English release of the main app) but I’m a huge fan of the company that makes it.

OshiRabu is very out of my norm for visual novels so we’ll see how I like it? As mentioned I’m a big Nitro Plus, or more specifically Nitro Chiral fan. The studio is well known for horror BL games. If there isn’t a cannibalism ending what’s the point? 🤷

More ink sketches and some ideas I wanted to get down. A few are ideas for emoticons. I made a set of emoticons for my inactive discord server ages ago and I’d like to add them to my resource page at some point. Figured I’d add a few new options as well.

I originally bought posca markers to decorate a hairbrush with. It was really fun and I love how it came out! I want to put bows and flowers on everything now aaaaaaa.
